I had to write a research paper for my women in literature class on one or two of the texts we had read that semester. I chose to write about Jane Eyre and Wide Sargasso Sea, and I specifically focused on Mr. Rochester’s relationships with his wives. In this paper I make the argument that Mr. Rochester grooms his wives, mentally and emotionally abuses them, and is very misogynistic.
